About the Work

Inspired by the white chrysanthemum, a symbol of sorrow, remembrance, and resilience, It Echoes Between traces denial, resentment, bargaining, despair, and acceptance. The choreography connects personal experiences of grief with cultural rituals and shared memories, extending Jee Ahn’s research into movement and cross-cultural connection. Created in collaboration with MTSU students, the work was selected for the 2025 ACDA Southeast Gala Concert, one of 11 works chosen from 49 submissions.

In fall 2025, Ahn restaged the work with University of Alabama students during an invited guest artist residency.

Featured recording: MTSU Fall Concert.
