About the Work
Unknown Places begins with the experience of entering unfamiliar territory. Jee Ahn and the dancers started the creative process with little knowledge of one another’s backgrounds or working methods. Ideas of uncertainty, insecurity, strangeness, and curiosity shaped their movement vocabularies. Using their bodies and costumes, the performers become journeyers exploring fear, vulnerability, and freedom. The work follows a search for a new home and a celebration of belonging.
